About Hiro

Hiro is an award-winning still life photographer who shoots campaigns for international brands. He spends most of his time in the studios in Shanghai, Tokyo, Hong Kong and Singapore, and delivers stunning photographic visuals on a daily basis.

Originally from Japan, Hiro is a graduate of the City College of New York, where he encountered the art of photography. Soon after graduation from college, Hiro started assisting a New York-based still life photographer, Sylvère Azoulai. He learned an exceptional lighting skill to draw elegant lines in a photographic image by strobe lights.

After his time in the Big Apple, Hiro moved to Tokyo and became an assistant for Takahito Sato, a leading advertisement photographer in Japan. In the following year, Hiro created his own studio in Tokyo - since then, he has been represented by some of Asia’s leading photo agents and productions.

秋田県出身。高校を卒業後渡米し、大学に入学。いくつか大学を変えた後、ニューヨーク市立大学に編入・卒業。

同大在学中に写真に出会い、卒業後はNYにてスティルライフフォトグラファー・シルバー アズレイ氏(2A, 2A by Sylvere)に師事し、広告写真撮影を学ぶ。また同氏が経営するレタッチスタジオSous Les Etoilesにて、広告・エディトリアルで活躍するトップレタッチャーからレタッチ技術を学ぶ。

その後東京に移り、広告写真家・佐藤孝仁氏に師事。独立後は都内にスタジオを設立。また上海を中心にアジア地域のマネージメントと提携しており、現在は東京と上海の二都市を軸に活動を行っている。
